Fantastiska Sjana Rut från Island är tillbaka med singeln Burn the matches. Sjana injicerar alltid mycket mening i sista texter och med discoinfluerad pop som grund sjunger hon om att måla upp sin egen väg, sitt eget liv och lämna andras konflikter därhän. Det är inget hon vill bära och det som målat henne i grått vill hon gå vidare ifrån - mot ett annat liv. Ett rikare och mer färgglatt. Jag tycker som sagt att Sjana är en magisk artist vars bakgrund gör mig rörd samtidigt som tydligt går sin egen väg i musiken och jämsides försöker hantera det personliga, det som skavt under hennes liv. Det är en låt som har viktiga fotsteg bort i sig. Det finns mycket mening här och med den här melodiösa singeln dansar både mitt inre och yttre med varandra. My dad introduced me to this masterpiece when I was young. The atmospheric soundscapes of Oxygène still transport me, and it’s the album I reach for whenever I need clarity or a reset. Still listening to it till this day.

This record feels so effortlessly cool. The production is sharp, and it’s one of those albums I can play start to finish without ever wanting to skip a track. I never get bored of it.

Alison Moyet’s voice is incredible, and the electronic production has so much character. Songs like Midnight and Don’t Go instantly take me back to my childhood.

This album is pure energy from start to finish. Jerry Williams’ voice is top tier here, and the live performances are electrifying. You feel like you were right there. The compositions, the charisma, and the sheer joy of playing this on full blast in the speakers make it one of my all-time favorites. It’s a reminder of why live music is so powerful.
Nat King Cole - Unforgettable (1954)
One of the most unforgettable voices. I could never feel sad listening to Nat King Cole, his warmth and elegance leave a lasting impact. I grew up listening to the compilation album ‘The World of Nat King Cole’, but this album feels more intimate.
