Fem album: Slightlykilld

Foto: Press

I september kom senaste singeln Rotation.

Skunk Anansie - Post Orgasmic Chill (1999)
This is an absolutely brilliant album - I’ve played it to bits. Skin has one of the most remarkable voices out there, and I mean it. Every track is full of raw power and energy. I love those vocal transitions, how she moves from those delicate and filigree moments to something completely fierce and powerful. It was such an important realization to me that heavy alternative music can be so beautiful, refined and masterfully performed. I go back to all Skunk Anansie’s albums whenever I need to reconnect with my true self and get my mojo back.

Metric - Art of Doubt (2018)
I’m in love with its vibe. There’s something about the album’s aesthetic that really draws me in. It’s danceable, but quite melancholic. I like the blend of Emily’s voice and the sophisticated vocal melodies, and of course, I feel very connected to Emily’s lyrics.

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine (1989)
An incredible record - the sound and the music were far ahead of their time. I heard it when I was a kid and didn’t fully understand what I was listening to, but the impression never left me. It’s an album you can study endlessly, and the most interesting thing for me - and I think I’m not alone in this - is that it never feels old.

Radiohead - OK Computer (1997)
The first thought that hit me when I heard it was: how the hell is this made? How is it played, written, and recorded like that? And even though I now understand much more about how this album was created, it still feels like a benchmark for me - a record that shows you how music can see through walls. It made me realise there are no real limits to musical thinking.

Depeche Mode - Violator (1990)
This is our shared and unquestionable choice. It’s not just an outstanding album - it’s the point from which both of us, living in different cities, wanted to start making music and, of course, learn English just to understand what all those songs were about. Violator is a true masterpiece, combining brilliant, unforgettable melodies with a dark, industrial atmosphere. There isn’t a single filler track on the record. And of course, the band’s outfits were absolutely gorgeous.
