This album has that perfect mix of heavy and melodic with electronic parts that build the whole atmosphere. It always felt like a complete world to me and I still go back to it when I want to remember why I like this kind of sound in the first place.
Linkin Park – Hybrid Theory (2000)
I can’t say it shaped the music I make now, but back then I really connected with the mix of soaring vocals, heavy guitars and electronic elements. It was one of the first albums where that combination felt natural to me, and it stayed in my memory because of that.
The Butterfly Effect - Begins Here (2003)
Not electronic, but a masterclass in what inspires me most: heavy, melodic songwriting with a strong, memorable vocal foundation. This album proved that emotional intensity doesn’t require overproduction, just great riffs and a voice that knows where to hit.
Gary Numan - Savage (Songs from a broken world) (2017)
I love how this album slowly builds its mood. Very atmospheric, with little moments of catchy melodies here and there. Industrial leaning but still very human. Something about that combination always clicks with me.
Depeche Mode - 101 (Live) (1989)
I didn’t grow up listening to DM. I actually heard most of their classics for the first time in a cinema watching this live show. It suddenly made sense why so many electronic artists take inspiration from them. It felt like discovering something new while also finally understanding what everyone else was referencing.
