My earliest memories of music are inseparable from my dad. He’s always been passionate about high-quality sound and diverse music. I vividly remember the walls and ceiling trembling from the bass as he blasted everything from Jean-Michel Jarre to Yello, Billie Holiday to AC/DC - much to the dismay of our poor neighbors. These varied sounds shaped my own musical identity, which isn’t confined to a single genre but instead guided by emotion and storytelling.
I used to sneak out of bed before him, quietly borrowing his live CD sets - Jerry Williams was a particular favorite - only to return them to the living room before he woke up. That ritual was my early form of musical exploration and discovery.
Storytelling is at the heart of what I do. When I create, I always ask myself: What story am I telling? What emotions or environments do I want to evoke? Sometimes the melody or lyrics guide the direction, but above all, I’m focused on painting a vivid emotional landscape. For me, music isn’t about fitting into a category - it’s about capturing a feeling, a moment, a story that resonates.
Music has this incredible power to express what words alone can’t. The most meaningful and beautiful art often comes not just from pain, but from the everyday moments that stick with us - those small memories where music is part of life’s soundtrack. Whether it’s joy, sorrow, or something in between, music connects us to those feelings and to each other.
That’s what I wanted to capture with Game Over. It’s a track that’s fun and upbeat on the surface, with a nod to ’80s arcade vibes, but it’s also really personal. I wrote it after going through a tough time, and it became my way of creating something uplifting - a celebration of hitting restart and coming back stronger. It’s playful but real, an anthem for anyone who’s had to pick themselves up and keep going.
